This movie was an abomination. We were bored out of our minds for three hours. THREE HOURS WE WILL NEVER GET BACK. At first we thought it was a silent black and white film documentary/ love story set in the Civil War. Unfortunately, we wrong, very wrong.
It's actually a movie that glorifies the Klu Klux Klan. Disgusting. The first half leads you to believe that it is a simple war story- and is fairly accurate . Boy falls in love with a girl in a picture, carries the picture with him to war, then meets her in the hospital, and BAM!! Love connection... Actually, there is a pretty adorable quote,
"Though we have never met, I've carried you around for a long, long time."The second part becomes crazy, and filled with hatred for black people. apparently, after the Civil War, black people took over the south and harassed the poor innocent white folk. Of course, the only way for them to fix this is to start the KKK. The rest of the is ridiculous and disturbing, and filled with inaccurate "facts". Don't watch this movie unless you are very interested in a biased point of view of the civil war. The movie greatly exaggerates every detail in can, and in the most boring way possible.
