This movie was adorable, but at the same time ridiculous. The best part of the movie is the beginning where the "scientists" are dressed as wizards in the classic cloak and hat covered in stars.
"La Voyage Dans la Lune" was extremely impressive for a movie from 1902. The narrator voice was amusing, and quite descriptive.

Basically, they build a gigantic gun that shoots a bullet full of people to the moon. The moon not only has erratic snow storms, angry star women, and oxygen, it also has abnormally large mushrooms growing under it's surface. While exploring the mushrooms, the Wizard-Scientists come across a "Selenite", which are the alien-like creatures that live on the moon. Oddly, they explode into clouds of dust when they are hit. After the W-Scientists are chased, captured, and brought back to the capital, the leader of the scientists breaks free, and kills the alien king by throwing him to the ground. The King bursts into smoke, and the W-Scientists escape. They climb aboard the bullet and magically shoot back to Earth, after the leader pulls the craft off of the cliff. They are welcomed home as heroes.
